About

My name is Winiferd A.S. Hardy and I go by Winnie. I teach the fiber arts of crochet & knitting. I started crocheting at a very young age and I’ve been knitting for 12 years. I’ve been teaching crochet at Hooked Fine Yarn Boutique since 2013. And next to being a Flight Attendant, it’s the best job ever! I truly love teaching others how to crochet and knit and learning about these two fiber arts. And yes I can teach lefties.
A little something about my fiber arts journey. Again I started crocheting at a very young age, and then life happened and I didn’t crochet for quite some time. I had a career as a Flight Attendant and on a particular flight I was working a woman was crocheting with a long crochet hook, something I’d never seen before, and of course I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was doing the Afghan stitch which is now referred to as Tunisian crochet. Well, that started me back up again with my fiber art of crochet for a while.
As life tended to continue on it’s journey and new chapters unfolded like becoming a wife, mother, and new career choices, this eventually brought me to Hooked Fine Yarn Boutique where I was able to teach my skills of crochet. My love of learning also started my journey into knitting.

Teaching this craft is something I truly love. There’s nothing quite like seeing my students light up when they learn something they never thought they could do—or when they have that “ah-ha” moment and everything finally makes sense. I enjoy finding ways to teach them how to understand a yarn stitch, follow a project pattern, and gain confidence as they create something beautiful. I also love learning right alongside them. This chapter of my life feels deeply fulfilling. Looking back, I can see that every experience led me right here—and I’m so grateful for the journey.

I hope you’ll come and learn from me. My expert instruction reflects my love and dedication to the fiber arts of crochet and knitting. Please take a moment to read some of my students’ reviews and browse photos of my work and projects. Whether you’re a beginner just starting out or an advanced crafter wanting to expand your skills, I offer both private lessons and group lessons designed to meet your needs. Each class provides step-by-step guidance in crochet and knitting techniques, in a space filled with kindness, respect, inclusion, fellowship, and care.

I truly look forward to teaching you, sharing the joy of yarn, and helping you grow through every project—one stitch at a time.
